RMKS/1. The purpose of this advisory is to announce, Central Site
will process Temporary BAH (T-BAH) increases for Sailors authorized
BAH in 28 military housing areas (MHA)  from 1 October 2022 to
31 December 2022 in accordance with ref (a). No field action will
be required.
2. Per ref (b), the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military
Personnel Policy has approved temporary BAH rate increases for
MHAs that have experienced an average increase of 20 percent or
more in rental housing costs as determined by rental housing market
data collected by the Department of Defense (DoD) from March to
August 2022. A full list of the 28 MHAs impacted and frequently

It is important to note that if the service member's MHA is not
listed, the service member is not eligible for a BAH increase.
Service members are encouraged to review the BAH rate charts
carefully as rates vary within MHAs (i.e. some ranks may not
see an increase).
